Douglas Quijano is dead.
The veteran talent manager was found lifeless in his Lucban, Quezon home by former Hi! editor and film director Ces Evangelista, who was a house guest, and the talent manager’s driver, Francis, earlier today, June 13.
This is terrible news! So sad.
So I went to Central Park today to watch the shooting of Vilma Santos’ comeback movie with Luis Manzano and John Lloyd Cruz. I really wanted to meet Lloydy again, but I was busy with work and American Idol, and he left early. But I did see the last scenes of Ate Vi and Lucky of the day.
Heading back home, I took a picture of Ate Vi while she was walking to the next location, and I told her that I posted her picture on my blog. She said: “Maganda ba yung nakasulat?” Then I said, yes, I wrote that she was “a living legend”. Then she laughed.
I’m so starstruck — I think I’m a fan for life now. Ate Vi for President!

I met John Lloyd Cruz earlier today courtesy of my friend Raymond Lee. He is here in New York City filming a gay-themed movie with Lucky Manzano and Vilma Santos for Star Cinema. I chatted with him for a bit, and now I feel that John and I are BFFs. Hahaha. He’s a really nice guy! Hopefully, I will get to meet him again in the next few days!

One month later, nabuhay ang Pinoy Rickey. lawl
I don’t know if I will be able to post regularly again, but here’s Gerald Santos on SOP

Action star Rudy Fernandez succumbs to cancer; he was 55 (GMA News)
Action star Rudy Fernandez succumbed to cancer early Saturday morning, ending a battle that lasted several months.
Radio dzBB quoted Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. as saying Fernandez passed away at 6:15 a.m., less than a month after he was brought out of a hospital to his home.
Fernandez had undergone treatment abroad for his illness. A healing mass attended by several friends at the Christ the King Church in Quezon City last May 10 was held for him.
“Daboy” was born on March 3, 1953, the son of film director Gregorio Fernandez. He started his active film career in 1970 while a student at the University of Santo Tomas.
He made a name for himself as an action star with “Bitayin si Baby Ama” in 1976 and gained further fame with “Ang Leon, Ang Tigre at ang Alamid” in 1979.
Oh what a sad day for the Philippines. My thoughts go out to LT and the rest of his family.

Omigad ang ganda ng Dyesebel! At ang ganda ng role ni Aljur!
How late is this one month or one week? two weeks?
Go Aljur Abrenica!
(Note: I’ve been missing out on some good shows lately… need to catch up!)

Wah-wah-wah…
How disappointing naman. I even made a category for him.
Abangan na lang natin ang Top 12 or something.
Bye Reydan! I guess we will never see you again on TV. Thanks for the memories, you will live forever on the Internet. Sigh.

The GMA young love teams on SOP. Although I did like the Lovi-Prince love team, parang mas may star-power ang Lovi-Marky so we’ll let it be. Also, Yasmien and Ranier Castillo are back thanks to Tasya Fantasya.

Jay-R Siaboc on ASAP
Mas konti talaga ang exposure sa ABS-CBN kung hindi ka mestizo o mestiza. Halos daplisan lang ng camera si Jay-R as usual.

Gerald Santos on SOP
Again, 1-minute a week lang talaga. Although it could be worse, and they’ve done it before: remove Gerald Santos from the show. Even when Marimar was being shown, ayaw pa rin pagbigyan si Gerald hanggang nag-request ang fans na isama ang version ni Gerald ng “Mahal Kita” — na original version.
So I guess we are stuck with 1-minute a week, but let’s be happy.
Go Geralddicts! For life!

He’s back! OMG — I’m so excited!
Reydan Buenagua wisely auditioned for Pinoy Idol, and in my opinion is a sure bet for the Top 12.
Exactly one year ago, Reydan joined Pinoy Pop Superstar and was defeated by April Nobody. I commented that Reydan already was a “gift” to PPS because among everyone who sang last year he had good looks and is someone you would want to watch on TV. Sadly Floy Quintos and Jaya clearly had no taste and did not let Reydan win. However this has turned into a blessing in disguise as we now find Reydan on the bigger show that is Pinoy Idol! Woohoo! I’m so happy.

The Metro Manila auditions had a good dose of comedic performances so I was not disappointed.
I can’t wait for next week!
Here’s Walton Zerrudo and some other memorable auditions.

The Luzon Auditions of Pinoy Idol was a bit disappointing. No gut-wrenching emotional moments like the Visayas and Mindanao auditions. And it wasn’t really too funny. The highlight was this girl who literally whored herself for Peta. Good luck getting your protein from vegetables. You literally need to gobble a boatload of beans just to get the same amount of nutrients you would get from an egg. And then you will pass gas. A lot of gas.
