    There’s this “Hollywood Dream” show on ABC5 where local stars competed to be Hollywood stars. Julia Clarete won. I think she will be departing Eat Bulaga and the Philippines this year.

    So sad to hear that. She is one of my favorite best female singers in the Philippines. Ang style ng boses nya combination ng kay Aiza Siguera at Regine Velasquez. And she can belt a song like Regine.

    First time nadinig ko ang record nya I said Wow ang galing. Instant fan nya ako agad. Ibang iba ang syle ng boses nya. Tagalog or English magaling sya. I actually kept on playing her album lalo na yong Bituin song at I’ll be there.

    With that voice and style and versatility how can she not make it to top 32? Ninyerbyos kaya sya or she got too tired or hungry waiting for her turn and she lost her composure or whatever. Waiting time during the auditions really takes toll sa mga contestants.

    Sa opinion ko lang Si Carol Banawa is an improved version of Aiza Siguera at Regine Velasquez combined. Yon lang.

    Isa sa mga chika noon ay umalis si Carol Banawa para mag pakasal sa bf na nameet nya in the States. Nangako rin ito na tutulong para mapagaling yung father nya.

    Sa kasalukyan ay may nursing job si Carol sa States. I think nag aaral pa rin sya dahil sabi sa isang show sa ABS na wala pa silang planong magka anak dahil nag-aaral pa silang mag asawa.

    Pwede ka atang makapasok sa American Idol kahit may album ka na as long as hindi ka active for 2 years or more bilang recording artist.

    You wont be disqualified from AI if you previously have an album or a professional singing career. You will be booted out if you have current recording or talent management agreements.

    Nakakalungkot na makita si Carol among other contestants na me tag na “coed curse”. Bilib ako ke Carol. Alam kong magaling siya. Hindi pa man, naisip ko na na maaring iconsider nya na magaudition for AI at yun na nga. Sana Ipinakita sa TV yung actual audition nya. Or sana, me mag-interview sa kanya at nang maikwento nya yung nangyari sa kanya dun. Hindi man bumilib ang mga amerikano bilib pa rin ang maraming pinoy sa kanya.

    it dosnt matter if she have an accent. meron ngang one contestant from BUlgaria pumunta cia dito sa US as a tourist and then she auditioned for american idol but she didnt make it becuase she sucks. i think some people in the ABS CBN know about that AI thing but they just dont want to comment about it becuase ma DQ si carol its a part of the agreement just like what i read last year about some filipino guy in CA who made it to top 32 but not top 24. and also if you check Carols interview sa the buzz she sounds soo excited its seemed like she changed maybe theres an explaination about it… the judges must be stupid or deaf not to like her performance…

    Medyo may pagka mellow nga ang voice ni Carol. Masyadong manipis. Pero kapag binirit and voice saludo ako. Dapat mag switch na siya from acoustic type na song to power ballad song tulad ni Jasmine Trias. Para sa akin mas mahusay pa sya kay Jasmine. Ang lamang ni Jasmine may dynasty sya sa Hawaii. Kahit mahusay ang boses mo kung wala kang pala they might not consider u. They are also looking for someone who can bring in lots of text votes.

In fact she is even better now as as a performer — ask anyone who saw her… Basta, I am confident na she was able to make it. abangan na lang natin next week.     An ABC 5 insider told Inquirer Entertainment that the network is acquiring the franchise for the US talent search ?American Idol.?

    The source said ABC 5 started negotiating with the show?s producer, FreemantleMedia, two years ago.

    ?Barring anything unforeseen, it?s a done deal,? the source said.
    The local version will be called ?Philippine Idol.?

    Meanwhile, at least two Fil-Ams have made it to Hollywood in the current AI season?Jose ?Sway? Penala and Jayne Rio Santayana.

    di sya nakapasok dahil boring daw yung personality nya… very scripted ang AI – she passed the PRODUCERS auditions – bago ka kasi maka abot kila simon, sa producers ka muna dadaan…she passed them then kila simon, nag yes si paula then no si simon and randy…
