ABS-CBN launched the Kapamilya Channel recently which plays some reruns of very old and not so old ABS-CBN shows. They are actually showing Panday promoting it as some sort of classic (hahaha) and on Saturday they will have a Sana Maulit Muli marathon. O diba? Unfortunately, the video quality from their promos is very dark as it seems that ABS-CBN is not airing them from high-quality dubs. Sana Maulit Muli already looks like old betamax footage when it’s supposed to be new.
At any rate, video quality aside, I was quite happy to watch an old episode of Ang TV today. 4:30 na! Ang TV na! Oh yes, the memories. Ang TV introduced us to Claudine Barreto, Angelu de Leon, Patrick Garcia (so cute), John Pratts, Paolo Contis, Vandolph (although he was really introduced to us by Alma Moreno in her show back in IBC-13), Gio Alvarez (may career pa ba ito?), Victor Neri, etc. Although my favorite was another obscurity, somebody named Jason San Pedro whose career unfortunately never went anywhere after Ang TV. Nasaan na kaya siya ngayon?
Oh, and one more thing: Jolina Magdangal? She looks the same! OMG. Hindi na nagbago ang itsura niya. Unbelievable. It’s like she’s in a time-warp!
Now if only GMA can rerun old episodes of That’s — yung first batch ha, when Lea Salonga was still on the show. That was must see TV during that time I have to say. And then it went downhill very fast when German Moreno started introducing us to members of his brothel such as Isko Moreno, Mon Alvir, etc. Although I actually found Donna Cruz’s brother, Jomar Cruz (another Kuya Germs alaga) cute. Amazingly untalented, but cute. Diba may game ito? Name the members of That’s Entertainment Wednesday edition. Go!
