After ABS-CBN pretty much destroyed Jericho Rosales’ career with Panday, Echo finds refuge in the show that discovered him: Eat Bulaga on GMA. Perhaps he can repeat the success of Marvin Agustin in switching networks. However, I think it’s all about humility. Echo should be able to find a job at GMA, but he should realize that he will not be treated like a “big fish” just like in ABS-CBN. So acting like a diva will not serve him well, he should be grateful that GMA is giving him a second chance at TV.

It was only last year that ABS-CBN was touting Panday and Jericho Rosales as the combination that will topple the fantaserye domination of GMA in the ratings. Karma’s a bitch, yeah? With ABS-CBN pinning their ratings hope on Super Inggo, tired teledramas and anything that Endemol pitches at them, it looks like they have decided to play just to survive and not to dominate like they did a decade ago. Their strongest gets right now are the Gerald-Kim and Sam-Piolo loveteams, and nothing else. I personally think this is an OK strategy for ABS-CBN. They’ve realized that they don’t have the resources (read: creative talent) to overtake GMA, so they’ve opted to stay just on pace, producing very budget concious shows, and hopefully not lose any more money like they did last year. The only problem with this is when you get smaller, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will be more streamlined and better.
