This opening number simply was a classic. Hindi ko matigilan ang sarili ko sa katatawa.
At first: O, bakit lumulutang si Regine? Tapos pagbaba niya, nyeh, On the Wings of Love ang kanta. Throughout the song, I kept wondering, kailan kaya lilipad si Regine? Ano ang mangyayari? And then finally, in the end, lumipad nga! Hahahaha. OMG, this is the concept to end all concepts. Bakit ang literal ninyo? Who is staging Pinoy Pop Superstar? It’s such a joke now.
In fairness, it’s the best laugh I’ve had in a while. Unfortunately, it looks like they think this is “high-concept” television, and I don’t think Regine was trying to make us laugh with her rendition of On the Wings of Love on a harness. Sobrang nakakatawa talaga.
Meanwhile, kailan ba ang grand championship? Hindi na interesting ang mga contestants, and GMA knows it.

Thousands audition for PBB: Teen Edition (ABS-CBN)
Wala bang child-protection laws sa Pilipinas? To have teenagers (read: CHILDREN) filmed 24 hours a day locked up in the house at the mercy of a film crew and broadcast 24 hours on the Internet is EXPLOITATION, even with parental consent.

PBB is open to everyone. One does not have to be very beautiful or handsome. Personality and sex appeal are more important to us.
Utang na loob. So naghahanap sila ng 16-year-old girls (or boys) with sex appeal to film 24 hours a day. Exploitation nga.
Does ABS-CBN know what it is doing? Grabe.
I feel so sad. Matatapos na ang StarStruck. Though the show did slow down after the Bugz-Vivo double-elimination, nalulungkot pa rin ako na mawawala na siya sa ere. But more importantly, ma-mi-miss ko kayong lahat! Sana bumisita pa rin kayo sa Pinoy Rickey kahit tapos na ang show. Meron pa namang Pinoy Pop Superstar (kahit boring na), so I’ll still blog about something at least once a week. It won’t be the same, but what can you do, all good things must come to an end.
I guess the highlight of this experience was Marky Cielo sending me a picture of him wearing the t-shirt I designed and sent him. There were others of course like seeing my blog on TV and the endless fan discussions, so I can only thank you, Marky, Bugz, Gian, Vivo, Arci, Sara, Iwa, direk Quark, and all the Kaisips for making the past couple of months such a meaningful experience for me.
Since I’m not too interested in the ABS-CBN soaps (there is enough crying and tragedy in my own life) and the GMA telefantasy shows are all delayed here in the U.S. (my god, hindi matapos-tapos ang Sugo), I really can’t do as much as I did with StarStruck: the Nationwide Invasion. Puwede pa sana ang Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition pero it is not shown here in the U.S. like the top-rated Koreanovela soaps. Sigh. I guess I won’t be able to watch the same things as you guys now. Sabihin niyo na lang kung kailan lumalabas si Rainier Castillo sa TV so I can tape it. Haha. (I am Rainier Castillo’s #1 Fan Since I Was Born, as you guys know. LOL)

Buti na lang pinakita ng GMA ang unedited footage of Iwa’s Davao interview. Hindi siya talaga dapat manalo. She’s the most selfish and plastic among all the survivors, and I’m glad that GMA has stopped protecting her. She absolutely doesn’t deserve to win. Nakaka-asar dahil na-realize niya na may malaking premyo pala na 10 million pesos, kaya hindi na siya nag-quit — all her reasons for staying are selfish. She is not a good person. Her bitterness with her own life is taking over everything that she is doing — and I personally do not want to see that on TV, and I hope that the Filipino youth will realize this also. The only reason people are talking about her is because she is on StarStruck not “because” she is the beautiful, talented and popular Iwa Moto. Sino ba siya ano? Pagkatapos ng show na ‘to hindi ko na siya papansinin, thank god. Ang laki ng image problem ni Iwa, hindi pa siya totoong artista. Pathetic talaga. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, with great power, comes great responsibility (from Spider-man). Iwa had the potential to win it all easily. She was brought down by her own hubris. Hindi kasi nakinig sa akin. Matagal ko ng sinulat dito ang kailangan niyang gawin para manalo — which is to be nice to everybody and control her mouth. Exact opposite ang nangyari. Kung may hinanakit man siya, sana tinago na lang niya at naghintay na lang siya pagkatapos siya manalo para maglabas ng sama ng loob. Sinong tange ngayon?
Finally, kung manalo man si Iwa Moto ng Ultimate Female Survivor at Sole Survivor this weekend inspite of everything, it will indicate once and for that there is no justice in the world, there is no god, and Filipinos are stupid, and to top it all I will not watch StarStruck ever again. Hahaha. Vote for Marky Cielo!
