Philippine Idol on GMA is a done deal (GMA News)

“There is no hard feeling between FremantleMedia and ABC 5,” according to Ms. Terra Dafon, ABC-5′s Corporate Affairs Head sa pagkakalipat ng Philippine Idol sa GMA.

From ABC-5 side, kinumpirma ni Ms. Daffon na wala na nga ang Idol franchise sa kanilang station. Naibigay na ang rights ng second season nito sa GMA-7.

Yay, this is such good news. Somebody at GMA is finally listening to me.

I worked with Auraeus Solito in college. I auditioned for a play by the U.P. Tropa Theater Co. where I sang — surprise! — Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid. Hahaha. Part of Your World was my signature song in college (along with Kahit Habang Buhay by Smokey Mountain). The director Paul Morales loved me, but Auraeus (who wrote the play) hated my guts.

Auraeus Solito directed Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros which was produced by Raymond Lee. There was a recent e-mail floating around that Auraeus declared himself an equal of Lino Brocka. Nyek. Really? Konting humility naman Aurae. It might do wonders to your career.

The film Philippine Science has music composed by the Eraserheads with lyrics by Carina Evangelista, who when she was still here in the U.S. trained me as her floral assistant.

“Kaya po ako natanggal doon ay dahil sa Magdalo group. Akala po kasi ng nasa government, isa ako sa mga nagre-recruit na maging rebeldeng sundalo yung mga tao. Parang ang perception nila, ginagamit ko yung ‘Citizen Patrol’ para maka-recruit ako ng mas maraming tao na magrebelde against sa government (I was removed from the program because of the Magdalo group. People in government thought I was recruiting soldiers to go against the government. They had a perception that I was using ?Citizen Patrol? to recruit more people to go against the government),” Tamayo was quoted as saying.

Valdez also said that even the show’s ratings indicated that the segment’s hosting was better left to the main anchors.

“We felt that her addition had no effect on the program. The ratings did not go up nor did it go down. We can’t justify the cause (why we should still keep Tamayo),” Valdez said.

Aray. Again, a PR snafu for a media company supposedly well-versed in media relations. So basically, Valdez said that Nene Tamayo is worthless — her being Pinoy Big Brother Season One winner meant nothing to the viewers.

Isang malaking challenge para sa young actor na si Rainier Castillo ang gumanap bilang isang bading sa pagbibidahan niyang episode sa Magpakailanman this Thursday, September 13.

Gagampanan ni Rainier ang papel ng comedy-bar performer na si Jason Quion, ang bading na taga-Iligan City na big fan at kaboses ni Regine Velasquez.

GMA might be grooming Rainier Castillo for gay comedy (although this one is a drama) ala Dolphy, Roderick Paulate and Keempee de Leon.
